Zapier

daybag's Zapier app connects your bookings to the other apps you use, with no code: a Zap can start when a booking is made, cancelled, moved or marked paid, or when a guest writes, and can book, move, cancel and message guests in daybag. It's by invitation until Zapier lists it, and it signs in with an API key, on every plan.

Set up

  1. Open https://daybag.io/zapier and accept the invitation: it adds daybag to your Zapier account.
  2. In Dashboard → Agents & Automation, choose Create key under Zapier (a key from Developers works too). Copy it: it's shown once.
  3. In Zapier, make a Zap and choose daybag. When Zapier asks you to connect, paste the key.

Triggers

Instant: daybag sends each event to your Zap within seconds.

New BookingTriggers when a booking is confirmed, including a held booking once it is paid or confirmed.
Cancelled BookingTriggers when a booking or a hold is cancelled, by you, your team, an agent or the guest.
Moved BookingTriggers when a booking moves to another time, keeping its reference and payment.
Booking Marked PaidTriggers when a booking is marked paid for money taken by hand, such as cash or a card reader. Bookings paid online arrive as New Booking.
New Guest MessageTriggers when a guest writes: from their booking page, by email or text, or with a question before booking.
Updated CustomerTriggers when a customer's details are saved outside a booking. For guests who book, use New Booking.
Cancelled TimeTriggers when a time on a calendar is cancelled, together with its bookings.

Actions

Create BookingCreates a booking for a guest, or holds a place while they decide or pay.
Cancel BookingCancels a booking or a hold not paid online, freeing its place. One paid online is cancelled in your dashboard, where it is refunded.
Move BookingMoves a booking to another time of the same offering, keeping its reference, price and payment.
Mark Booking as PaidRecords a payment you already took yourself, such as cash or a card reader, by marking a confirmed booking paid. It charges nothing and moves no money.
Create or Update CustomerCreates a customer, or updates the one with the same email.

Good to know

  • A booking paid online can't be cancelled from Zapier: Cancel Booking refuses it. Cancel it in daybag, which refunds the guest in full.
  • Booking Marked Paid fires only for payments recorded by hand, such as cash or a card reader. A booking paid online arrives as New Booking.
  • Replaying a run of Send Message to Guest sends the message again. A replayed Create Booking returns the booking it made instead of booking twice.
  • Each Zap that starts from daybag keeps one webhook while it's on, listed under Dashboard → Developers, up to 50 active per org. Turning the Zap off removes it.
  • Revoking the key switches off the webhooks it made, so those Zaps stop until you connect a new key and turn each one off and on again.
